Carved into a block of local trachyte, the epigraph carries a Sardinian-Latin inscription. Found at the base of the Allai bridge, it reads as follows (translated into English): “IN THE REIGN OF JUDGE BARISONE I / ON THURSDAY, 9 MAY 1157 / THE MASTER CRAFTSMAN GIOVANNI CAPULA / BUILT TWO ARCHES OF THE BRIDGE.
